Love, love, love this book. Read the series about 8 years ago and just came back to read it again. Francine Rivers speaks to my soul. This series taught me a lot about what it was like to be a first century Christian. The trials that everyday people went through. The persecution Christians suffered so that I could have the religious freedoms I take so very much for granted now. And how many similarities there are between modern America and ancient Rome.
