Douglas Moo is a gifted, talented writer who, without being too theologically stuffy, can clearly explain things in layman's terms, giving one a clearer understanding of the New Testament: what it meant for those living around the time of Christ as well as what is means for us today.
I would also like to recommend two of Moo's other books, Encountering the Book of Romans (which is a foundational book when it comes to understanding the work of Christ) as well as his commentary on the book of James.
