I was surprised to learn of the variety of interpretations of Jesus and his teachings that were found in Middle Eastern scrolls buried for nearly two thousand years. This is a very scholarly but easily understood compilation of many books that were excluded for a variety of reasons from the New Testament canon. The renowned historian Bart Ehrman and others translated these ancient scriptures from the oldest known Greek, Coptic, Arameic, and Latin texts.
